Livelihood Enhancement Team

Supported by Gujarat Forest Department, Livelihood Enhancement Team (LET) a three year project was under taken by Shroffs Foundation Trust to be implemented in 60 villages of Chhota Udepur, Kawant, Pavi Jetpur and Naswadi talukas of Vadodara district. The aim is to facilitate, promote, assist and advice Self Help Groups to develop Income Generation Activities and to establish individual and collective micro enterprises at the same time protect the forests.

During the year, 78 Self Help Groups were formed of these 28 groups were helped to form business plans which were submitted to the forest department. 11 members of 1 group were given 2 days training in Poultry Farming at Guda village in Chhota Udepur. At the end of the training every member of the group was given Rs. 500/- stipend, 25 hens and 100 kg. bird feed. Rs. 30,000/- given by the govt. for each group, will be spent in constructing a shed where the whole group will start business in poultry farm.
