Swami Vivekanand Krushi Seva Kendra

The major source of livelihood in majority of villages in the blocks of Padra and Chhota Udepur talukas like other parts of the country has been agriculture, cattle farming and allied activities. Due to various factors these people cannot rely on these activities through out the year and are forced to migrate in search of livelihood. The rural youth is moving towards city in search of a better life which is only adding to the existing woes. Issue like global warming, climate changes have further made the situation more difficult.

SFT started Swami Vivekananda Krushi Seva Kendra in the year 1998 with an objective to increase the productivity of sectors like agriculture, cattle farming and allied activities, facilitate the people involved in these activities to get optimum returns on investments, adopt organic farming and to increase the employment opportunities and form sustainable market linkages.

What really needs to be done is this, one has to reach optimum level in utilization of natural resources, like land and water and produce high value products at reduced costs and get back fair returns.
