Shardadevi Gramudhyog Society, founded in 2008 has 450 enrolled members who are the shareholders and owners of the society. It is being run by tribal artisans of Chhota Udepur and is progressing steadily. Its products are being sold in the market under the brand name ‘VIVEKA’ which is gaining ground in the market and creating its own identity. Over a period of time they have understood the business concept in context with marketing, designing and production. Today it is not only selling its products through its outlet at Kalali but also through exhibitions all over India.

New products and designs are being introduced from time to time keeping in mind the market demand. Meeting other artisans and exposure to new products during exhibitions, has made them realize the importance of quality work, good finish and customer satisfaction. Such visits to the exhibitions have built their confidence and made them more independent. They now understand accounts, sales and production better. They share their experiences with other members at the meetings and make necessary changes in their functioning. During the year SGS participated in 21 exhibitions all over India.

Combined savings of 450 members of 62 Self Help Groups since the inception of SGS in 2008, has reached Rs.8, 69, 469/-. Their internal lending has gone up to Rs. 7, 00, 958/-. Together they have taken loan of Rs. 17, 68, 827/-. So far recovery is Rs. 9, 66, 374/-. Highest earning of an individual artisan this year has been Rs. 16,828 compared to Rs. 12,716 the previous year. This year the artisan earning was 15% of the sales amount Rs.38,74,529/- brining the profit of Rs. 3,24,654/-
