Inaugural function of Sharda Medical Centre – Chhota Udepur

A 14 bedded Sharda Medical Center, providing 24 hours emergency medical services, was inaugurated on 26th December 2010 in Chhota Udepur. Rev. Swami Shri Dhruveshanandji, President, Ramkrishna Mission, Rajkot, was the chief guest. About 700 people from surrounding area, govt. officials and other invitees attended the function. A medical camp was also organized on the same day. 216 patients were examined and treated during the camp.

Farmers’ Day

A Farmers Day was organized in Raisingpura village in Chhota Udepur on 12th October 2010. The event was attended by about 600 farmers including some women from surrounding 50 villages. Mrs Sandra Shroff, Chairman UPL, along with high ranking officers was also present. The purpose was to expose farmers to the PAC-807 hybrid variety of paddy which gives high yield in less time. Seeds for the same are being produced by UPL-Advanta company. The officials from the company gave detailed information on this variety and methodology for its production. This was followed by a visit to the farm where PAC-807 and Gujarat-17 varieties were grown side by side.

On the same day A Farmers’ Day was also organized in Karakhadi village in Padra taluka. About 350 farmers from surrounding 15 villages attended the function. Mrs Sandra Shroff, Chairman UPL and her team attended the event. The experts from UPL-Advanta gave information to the farmers on horticulture, hybrid Nutrifeed fodder and PAC-807 paddy. This was followed by the visit to the field. A display of farm equipments was organized at the both the sites of Farmers Day.

Inauguration of Dialysis Machine

A dialysis machine was donated to RKPH by Mr. Ashok Shah through a family trust, Devi G. C. Shah Charitable Trust in memory of Shri Govindlal and Smt Chandrakanatben shah. The machine was inaugurated on 8th January 2011 in presence of about 20 family members and SFT staff.

Purvi Balmandir Sports Day

Purvi Balmandir Sports day was organized on 31st December 2010. The event was attended by the parents of children, SFT management and staff. Ms Heena Mankodi, well known educationist was the chief guest. Besides organizing competitions for the children, some events were organized for the parents and SFT staff also.

Purvi Balmandir Cultural Day

Purvi Balmandir’s cultural program was organized on 2nd April 2011 at Kalali campus. Children performed different dances based on stories of different animals in the forest. The theme was save the jungle and save the tiger. Smt. Yoginiben Rana, Ex principal of Vidyakunj school was the chief guest. She presented the children with gifts.
