Flood Relief 2006

SFT undertook urgent relief operations when the floods hit Vadodara district on 31st July 2006. They provided safe drinking water to the affected areas. Spread of epidemics was avoided by sanitation and mass spraying done in 104 and 101 villages respectively.

Total 160 people were involved in the relief work which lasted for 25 days. SFT mobilized people belonging to various factions in large numbers. Help extended in the form of cash and kind was channelized and distributed on the basis of requirement by SFT. Chlorine tablets were distributed to 40, 517 households. Liquid chlorine was provided for water works to last for 10 days. Through 570 educational meetings on health, 17296 people were reached.

Co-ordination between various agencies ensured successfully overcoming various obstacles and completing the gargantuan task.
